Olivier Rousteing, creative director of Balmain, showcased a Fall 2012 collection inspired by the Fabergé eggs Richard Burton gave to Elizabeth Taylor.
The 'rocker chic' line was all about quilted military-inspired jackets, boxy double-breasted blazers, long-sleeved mini dresses, menswear-inspired suits, leather skirts and pants.
Pearls, crystals, beads, baroque prints and floral-embroidered details covered nearly every piece.
Fluid velvet pants, dresses and skirts accented wih chunky belts provided a more luxe vibe.

Rousteing paired pieces like pearl-encrusted trousers with knit sweaters in an effort to make the looks more casual.
Strong shoulders brought an androgynous edge to the ultra-sexy silhouettes in neutral hues of black, nude, peach, forest green, gold and white.
Black lace-up boots and natural wavy hair completed the looks.
