Designers seem to be all Asian influenced for their Fall 2012 presentations at New York Fashion Week.
Inspired by “the golden age of Shanghai,” Tadashi Shoji’s show was full of glamorous and elegant pieces.
The ultra-feminine collection featured cocktail dresses and gowns with touches of lace, velvet, ruffles, pleats, brocades, sheer panels and beading.
Shoji continues to offer his audience a wide variety of colours including green, gold, cobalt, ruby red, black, brown and floral prints taken from a Chinese painting.
Silhouettes ranged from 20's dropped waists and high boat necks to cowl-backs, floor-length tiered bottoms and long-sleeves.

For an understated and timeless chic look, model's hair was styled into a simple side-parted bun and their make-up consisted of a touch of mascara with a defined brow and a bright bold crimson lip shade for a strong pout.
Gold antique drop earrings and black pumps, both by Joan & David finished the looks.

Show stoppers of the collection included a green lace pattern tiered column dress with three-quarter sleeves, the high-neck black lace gown with Venetian lace bodice and cap sleeves, and an exquisite black tulle gown with a sheer top embroidered with cobalt blue flowers.
