Monique Lhuillier's Fall 2012 collection presented during New York Fashion Week was darker and more seductive then her previous presentations in a colour scheme of blacks, greys, golds and pops of rich scarlett reds.

The first looks were separates, jumpsuits and dresses in simple and conservative silhouettes accented with edgy leather bands at the waist, along with sheer panels and cut-out details which gave the pieces a sexy appeal.

The cocktail dresses had a sophisticated construction combined with a mix of  leather, lace details, sequin embellishements and eye-catching prints inspired by lava and volcanic stones.

It's one gorgeous design after the other...

As usual, the collection was filled with stand-out gowns with daring thigh-high slits and cut-out backs.

Materials like silk, tulle and organza were paired with intricate beading and metallic paillettes which provided classic glamour and a modern sophistication effortlessly in every piece.

I'm guessing that the flowing lava printed strapless silk gown with licking flames along the entire length will appear on the red carpet very soon.

All the models wore natural eye make-up with strong red lips. This clean minimalist look was complemented with structured hair in slicked back waves.

Key accessories included wide leather belts, black Manolo Blahnik multi ankle-strap pointed heels and leather gloves.

Let's start the countdown to the Oscars and start guessing who will wear what?
