Jenny Packham presented a Fall 2012 collection that was all about the shoulders. There were padded shoulders, embellished shoulders, bared shoulders and draped shoulders.
The designer was inspired by 40's film stars and the runway was set with film noir elements.
Kate Middleton's favourite showed a parade of collared tuxedo-inspired jumpsuits, ladylike separates and feminine mini dresses in demure abstract prints, liquid metallic fabrics and sequins, accented with bow-tied red or black belts which looked between pretty and sexy.

Curve-conscious and girly A-line dresses were showcased in shades of black, red, nude and white.
I'm already picturing Kristen Stewart wearing the black one shoulder mini dress with a cascading gold sequined panel...

As expected, the runway was also flooded with many red carpet-worthy gowns in edgy silhouettes accented with plunging necklines and open backs for a subtle flash of skin and strong embellishments for the perfect dose of sparkle.
However, there were also some softer flowing silk confections in pretty pastel pink and blue.
The models’ hair was styled in a rock'n'roll meets old Hollywood swept back style with rolled-under bangs. Deep bordeaux lips added a vampish vibe.
The looks were accessorized with black Christian Louboutin crisscross pumps and chunky costume stud earrings and rings.
